14 Bodies Recovered from Landslide-Buried Vehicles in Dhading

Dhading, Sept 28: A tragic landslide incident in the Jhaple River area of Dhading has claimed at least 14 lives, as bodies were recovered from two vehicles buried on the Prithvi Highway.

The police, with teams deployed from both Kathmandu and Dhading, removed the bodies from the two vehicles— a bus and a microbus—on Saturday evening. According to officials, five people were rescued and nine dead bodies were recovered from the bus numbered Lu 1 J 4578, which was traveling from Butwal to Kathmandu.

The authorities have warned that the death toll could rise as search and rescue operations are still ongoing.
