Seventeenth Navratri Maha-Mahotsav Begins at Pashupati
Kathmandu, Oct 3: The ‘Seventeenth Navratri Maha-Mahotsav’ has commenced today at the holy religious site of Pashupati on the occasion of Vada Dasai. Organized by the Srima Durga Bhavani Puja and Hindu Culture Council, the festival will run until October 25, featuring Devi Bhagwat preaching and daily worship rituals.
Inaugurating the event, Forest and Environment Minister Ain Bahadur Shahi Thakuri highlighted its importance in promoting religious tourism and fostering religious tolerance for national unity. The Council’s President, Ramsobit Nayak, emphasized that the festival aims to promote Pashupati as a key pilgrimage destination and plans to establish a hospice and ambulance service through the event.
The festival began with a Kalash Yatra from Vankalilekhi to Bagmati, followed by a special Mahaarti. Daily events will include Durga Mata’s discourse and bhajankirtan sessions.
