Kathmandu, Oct 26: CPN Maoist Center Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal “Prachanda” has refuted rumors of meeting with former King Gyanendra Shah. Addressing a gathering organized by the Maoist Center’s Bagmati, Valley Special, and Contact Coordination Provincial Committee, Prachanda dismissed claims that he had secretly met Gyanendra in Jhapa.
Prachanda clarified, “Some have spread rumors that I went to Jhapa to meet Gyanendra, but I did not even consider such a meeting.” He further questioned the validity of such claims, stating, “Is it reasonable to say that someone, who is preparing for another revolution to safeguard the federal democratic republic, would meet Gyanendra?”
