Kathmandu, Nov 8: Newly elected U.S. President Donald Trump has expressed his willingness to engage in discussions with Russian President Vladimir Putin.

“I think we will negotiate,” Trump mentioned in an interview with NBC News on Thursday, though he noted he hasn’t yet spoken directly with Putin.

According to Russian news agency Tass, Trump confirmed that while he has yet to connect with Putin, he has reached out to 70 other world leaders, including Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

Trump also mentioned plans to have dinner with outgoing President Joe Biden in the near future.

Trump’s 2016 campaign faced allegations of Russian interference; however, Russia consistently denied involvement. A subsequent investigation by U.S. special counsel Robert Mueller in 2019 found no evidence of collusion between Trump’s campaign and Russia.
