Nepali Peacekeepers Rotated in Central African Mission
Kathmandu, Dec 23: A new contingent of Nepali peacekeepers has been deployed in the Central African Republic, replacing the previous team under the UN peacekeeping mission.
The final group of 225 personnel from the Yudhbhairav Battalion’s third contingent has departed to relieve the Mahabir Battalion (Rangers) second contingent, which served under the ‘Light Infantry Battalion’ mission. The newly deployed team is led by Lieutenant General Hupendra Lal Regmi, according to the Military Public Relations and Information Directorate.
Meanwhile, 225 peacekeepers from the outgoing team, led by Major General Prajwal Thapa, have returned home after successfully completing their tenure.
Currently, 1,244 Nepali peacekeepers are serving in the mission, showcasing Nepal’s continued commitment to global peacekeeping efforts.
