Humla, Jan 26: Nepalese and Chinese security personnel jointly monitored the northern border area of Humla on Saturday, inspecting the border crossing in the Kit area of Namkha Rural Municipality-5, Hilsa.

Krishna Bahadur Ojha, Chief Inspector of the Armed Police Force (APF) Border Security Post in Hilsa, stated that the joint inspection of the border and posts was conducted based on mutual agreement between the security teams of both countries.

Reports suggest an abundance of salt along the Hilsa-to-Kit route. To address concerns and prevent potential incidents, Deputy Superintendent of APF Devraj from Gulm Simkot confirmed that the joint monitoring aimed to ensure border safety.

Additionally, Nepali security personnel have been patrolling areas from Hilsa toward Nara and Limi. The patrol team included Chinese security forces and Nepal’s APF and Janapad Police officers.

The APF has been actively overseeing border security since its deployment to the northern border in Hilsa in 2077 BS. Despite harsh winter conditions and snowfall in northern Namkha, Deputy Superintendent Rai noted that Hilsa remains operational year-round, ensuring consistent monitoring and security.
