West Indies Defeat Pakistan by 120 Runs in Historic Test Victory
Kathmandu, Jan 27: The West Indies secured a stunning 120-run victory over Pakistan in the second Test, marking their first win on Pakistani soil in 34 years.
The West Indies set a challenging target as they scored 244 runs in their second innings, after posting 163 in the first innings. Pakistan, in response, was dismissed for just 133 runs in their second innings, falling short by 120 runs.
Mohammad Rizwan and Salman showed some resistance, but the West Indies bowlers, led by Jomel Verikan, took control. Verikan’s exceptional performance, with nine wickets across both innings (four in the first and five in the second), played a key role in the victory.
Verikan was named Player of the Match for his outstanding contribution to the West Indies’ historic win. The West Indies had previously won a Test series in Pakistan back in 1988.
