126 Nepali Students Return from KIIT Following Prakriti Lamsal’s Death

Birgunj, Parsa, Feb 19: A total of 126 Nepali students studying at Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology (KIIT) in Orissa, India, have returned to Nepal through the Raxaul checkpoint.

Acting Chief District Officer of Parsa, Nishan Raj Gautam, confirmed that 103 male students and 23 female students arrived home, citing insecurity after the death of Nepali student Prakriti Lamsal. The students reported facing threats and mental harassment from the KIIT administration.

Meanwhile, the All Nepal National Independent Students Union (ANR) held a protest at the Indian Consulate General in Birgunj, demanding justice for Lamsal’s death.
