NCC Delegation from India, Bhutan, and Maldives Meets President Poudel

Kathmandu, Feb 25: A group of 34 National Cadet Corps (NCC) delegates from India, Bhutan, and Maldives, who arrived in Nepal for the Youth Exchange Program 2025, paid a courtesy call on President Ram Chandra Poudel today. The meeting took place at the President’s Residence, Shital Niwas.
The exchange program is being held in Kathmandu on the occasion of Mahashivratri and the 262nd anniversary of the Nepal Army. The program aims to share skills, culture, and traditions among cadets from Nepal and its neighboring countries. President Poudel, who is the Commander-in-Chief of the Nepal Army, welcomed the delegation warmly.
Officials say that the youth exchange will help deepen mutual understanding of social, economic, and cultural issues, and strengthen friendly ties among the countries involved. The NCC has been working to build leadership, discipline, patriotism, and a sense of national service among the youth by sharing good practices.
Key figures at the event included Lieutenant General Yam Prasad Dhakal, Executive Director General of Nepal’s National Service Corps; Gurvirpal Singh, NCC Director General of India; Sange Choden, Director of the Bhutan Scout Association; and Karfan Rashtra Bhagi Alil, Chief of the Maldivian Delegation.
