Trump Hopes Zelensky Visits US to Sign Mineral Deal

Kathmandu, Feb 26: US President Donald Trump has expressed hope that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky will visit the United States on Friday to sign a mineral deal between the two countries. Trump said, “Without the United States, US financial support and military equipment, this war would have ended in a few months. We are helping Ukraine through a very big crisis, but now the American taxpayers will get their money back.”
Trump added that he is pressuring Ukraine to obtain the minerals in exchange for US military aid. Earlier, a senior official in Kiev told the BBC that Ukraine and the United States had agreed on the basic terms of a mineral deal. Although details were not provided, the official said that both countries had agreed to make important amendments to ensure the success of the agreement.
