Kathmandu, Feb 27: President Donald Trump is holding his first cabinet meeting since beginning his second term. The meeting is scheduled for Wednesday local time.

According to the US Constitution, cabinet ministers advise the president on issues related to their ministries. In the United States, it is up to the president to decide when these meetings take place.

For the first time since his cabinet was approved by the US Senate, all ministers have gathered to set the agenda. Also in attendance will be billionaire Elon Musk, who Trump appointed as head of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE). DOGE is an advisory body created to cut costs in government departments.

There have been questions recently about Musk’s role in the US government. The president’s office stated that Musk is not the leader of DOGE but serves as a close adviser to the president, attending today’s meeting and others.

In a later statement on Truth Social, Trump said, “All cabinet members are very happy with Trump and the media will see this cabinet meeting.”
