Kathmandu, March 2: In a Group A match of the ICC Champions Trophy, India set a target of 250 runs for New Zealand. Despite losing the toss, India chose to bat first and scored 249 runs for the loss of nine wickets in 50 overs.
Shreyas Iyer top-scored with 79 runs, while Hardik Pandey added 45 runs. Aksar Patel contributed 42 runs, KL Rahul scored 23, and Ravindra Jadeja also helped in the innings. New Zealand’s bowler Matt Henry took five wickets.
The result of this match will decide the winner and runner-up of Group A, with both India and New Zealand advancing to the semi-finals.
