Former King Gyanendra Shah Returns to Kathmandu After Western Nepal Visit

Kathmandu, March 9: Former King Gyanendra Shah has returned to Kathmandu today after completing a brief visit to western Nepal.
Upon his arrival, he was welcomed by leaders and cadres of political parties, including the Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP), along with his supporters. Many of those gathered outside the Tribhuvan International Airport carried national flags to greet him.
The welcoming event caused traffic disruptions in the airport and roundabout areas due to the presence of various groups supporting the former king, including the RPP. In response, security arrangements were tightened in the sensitive airport zone.
Former King Gyanendra, who had been on a religious tour of different areas, arrived in Kathmandu from Pokhara earlier today.
