Pakistan Train Hijacking: Rescue Operation Continues in Balochistan

Kathmandu, March 12: Pakistani security forces are still carrying out a rescue operation after armed extremists hijacked a passenger train in Balochistan.
The attack took place on the Jafar Express, which was traveling from Quetta to Peshawar. Pakistani security sources report that 155 people have been rescued, while 27 extremists have been killed. The Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) has claimed responsibility for the hijacking.
Authorities believe the attackers were coordinating with individuals in Afghanistan. Pakistan’s Minister of State for Home Affairs, Talal Chaudhary, stated that militants dragged passengers off the train and took them into the mountains.
The train, carrying over 400 passengers, was loaded with nine coaches. Security forces continue efforts to ensure the safety of the remaining hostages.
