PM KP Sharma Oli Arrives in Bangkok for BIMSTEC Summit

Bangkok, April 1: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has arrived in Thailand to participate in the sixth summit of the Bay of Bengal Initiative for Multi-Sectoral Technical and Economic Cooperation (BIMSTEC).

Landing at 6:15 PM local time on Tuesday, PM Oli was warmly received by Thailand’s Deputy Prime Minister and Transport Minister Suriya, Culture and Sports Minister Sorawong Thenbong, and Nepali Ambassador to Thailand Dhanbahadur Sawapong Sirisorn.

This marks PM Oli’s first official visit to Thailand, following an invitation from Thai Prime Minister Pe Thong Than Shinawatra.

Accompanying the Prime Minister are First Lady Radhika Shakya, Foreign Minister Dr. Arju Rana Deuba, Chief Advisor Bishnu Prasad Rimal, Economic Development Advisor Dr. Yubaraj Khatiwada, Secretary Amrit Bahadur Rai, and other high-level officials.
