Russia Responds to Trump’s Criticism, Calls for Continued Cooperation

Kathmandu, April 1: The Kremlin has responded to US President Donald Trump’s sharp criticism of Russian President Vladimir Putin, emphasizing that Russia remains committed to working with the United States to improve bilateral relations.
Dmitry Peskov, the Russian presidential press secretary, stated that while there are currently no scheduled talks between Putin and Trump, the Russian president remains open to discussions if necessary.
Trump, in an NBC News interview on Sunday, expressed strong dissatisfaction with Putin, warning that he could impose 50 percent tariffs on countries purchasing Russian oil if Putin does not agree to a ceasefire.
Despite Trump’s tough stance, the Kremlin’s response suggests an attempt to ease tensions between the two leaders, indicating that Russia is still willing to engage in diplomatic dialogue.
