PM Oli in Rupandehi: UML Will Lead Nation’s Development Despite Opposition

Rupandehi, April 11: Prime Minister and CPN-UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli declared that his party’s mission for prosperity and development will not be halted by internal or external opposition. Speaking at an awareness rally organized by the CPN-UML Rupandehi District Committee in Butwal, Oli strongly defended the party’s vision, stating, “Those trying to destroy UML or recreate it without KP Oli will not succeed. Even if I’m gone, stronger leaders will rise in UML.”
Oli criticized so-called “selfish and perfect” elements for failing the nation and emphasized that the UML’s campaign for change is firmly rooted in democratic values and national progress. He accused certain domestic and foreign forces of trying to derail this progress, and condemned actions like arson and looting, claiming such acts hold no place in a true revolution.
He underscored that the current government’s priority is to strengthen the democratic republic achieved through decades of struggle against monarchic misrule and the Panchayat system. “We won’t be swayed by those spreading rumors and chaos,” he said.
The Prime Minister highlighted several development and infrastructure initiatives in Lumbini, including highways, hospitals, international conference centers, meditation hubs, and advancements in agriculture, which he said were implemented under UML leadership.
Oli also reaffirmed the UML–Nepali Congress coalition, stating it is built for national stability and transformation, and will likely last until the next elections.
Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Bishnu Prasad Poudel, who is also UML Vice-Chairman, called on the people to reject false propaganda and recognize the party’s commitment to prosperity and good governance.
UML Secretary and Lumbini Province Incharge Padma Aryal challenged opposition forces to engage in an open debate on UML’s work and impact. Lumbini Chief Minister Chetnarayan Acharya, Union Land Management Minister Balram Adhikari, and other leaders were also present at the rally.
