Kathmandu, April 15: Former US President Donald Trump has stated that Iran must abandon its nuclear weapons ambitions, emphasizing global security concerns.

Speaking to reporters at the White House, Trump remarked, “Iran wants to make a deal with us, but they don’t want to. We’ll meet on Saturday. The next meeting will be next Saturday.”

He reiterated that Iran does not currently possess nuclear weapons, but warned, “If necessary, we will take tough action. Not for ourselves, but for the world. These are radicals.”

The US and Iran are in ongoing negotiations over Iran’s nuclear program, with the next round of talks scheduled in Oman. If the two sides reach an agreement, it could potentially lead to the easing of US-imposed sanctions on Iran.

The statement comes amid renewed international focus on Iran’s nuclear activities and increasing pressure for diplomatic solutions.
