Kathmandu, Aptil 25: Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) secured their first home win of the IPL season, defeating Rajasthan Royals by 11 runs at the Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.

With this sixth win, RCB climbed to third place in the points table.

Batting first, RCB posted a formidable 205 runs, thanks to solid knocks from Virat Kohli (70) and Devdutt Padikkal (50). In reply, Rajasthan Royals fell short, managing 194/9 in their 20 overs.

Rajasthan had a blazing start with Vaibhav and Yashaswi Jaiswal adding 52 runs in just 4.2 overs. However, Bhuvneshwar Kumar broke the momentum by dismissing Vaibhav for 16. Jaiswal, who looked threatening with a quickfire 49 off 19 balls, was removed by Josh Hazlewood, who starred with the ball, claiming four wickets.

The middle order tried to stabilize with brief cameos – Parag (22 off 10) and Dhruv Jurel (47) kept Rajasthan in the chase. But consistent breakthroughs by RCB, including wickets from Hardik Pandya and Hazlewood, derailed the innings.

In the end, despite some resistance from Shubham Dubey, Rajasthan fell short as RCB held their nerve to seal an 11-run win in a high-scoring thriller.
