Nepali Student Found Dead in India: Foreign Ministry Launches Diplomatic Efforts

Kathmandu, May 2: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Nepal has initiated diplomatic steps following the suspected suicide of a Nepali student at Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology (KIIT) in Odisha, India.
The student, identified as Prisa Sah, was a first-year B.Tech student. She was discovered dead in her hostel room, prompting concerns over the circumstances of her death.
Foreign Minister Arju Rana stated that the ministry is actively working to gather detailed information. “We have launched diplomatic initiatives through the Indian government, Odisha state officials, and the Nepali Embassy in Delhi to uncover the facts,” she said.
Rana also extended heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family.
Meanwhile, the Odisha state government has ordered a formal investigation into the incident. Local police are also conducting their own inquiry to determine the cause of death.
