Kathmandu, May 14: The United States and Saudi Arabia have signed a $142 billion defense sales agreement, which the White House has called the largest defense sales agreement in history.

In a statement released by the White House, it was revealed that Saudi Arabia has also pledged to invest $600 billion in the United States. The deal includes the provision of advanced combat equipment and defense services by American firms to Saudi Arabia.

The announcement coincides with U.S. President Donald Trump’s diplomatic visit to the region. Trump arrived in Saudi Arabia on Tuesday, where he met with Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.

This trip marks Trump’s first major diplomatic visit in his second term, and includes stops in Qatar and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) as part of a four-day tour focusing on regional cooperation and economic partnerships.
