Kathmandu, May 30: Monarchist supporters staged fresh demonstrations in Maitighar and Baneshwor, demanding the reinstatement of the monarchy and the declaration of Nepal as a Hindu state.

The protests, which have been intensifying in recent days, follow an earlier gathering at Shanti Batika on Thursday. The movement is being supported by political groups including the Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) and RPP Nepal, who have been protesting since the declaration of the republic in Nepal.

Demonstrators waved national flags and raised slogans in favor of the former monarchy and traditional religious identity. The demonstrations also disrupted vehicular movement in both Maitighar and Baneshwor, causing traffic congestion in central Kathmandu.

The issue continues to draw public and political attention amid wider debates about Nepal’s identity and governance system.
