Russia Claims to Have Shot Down Over 1,400 Ukrainian Drones in One Week

Kathmandu, May 31: In the latest update on the ongoing Russia-Ukraine war, Russia has claimed it shot down 1,439 Ukrainian drones over the past week, according to a statement from the Russian Defense Ministry released on Friday.
Russian forces reportedly targeted Ukrainian industrial facilities, military airports, and ammunition depots, while also launching attacks in the Sumy, Kharkiv, and Donetsk regions. Moscow further claimed its troops had taken control of 13 settlements across these areas.
Meanwhile, Ukraine is said to have deployed a new air defense missile system to counter Russian drone strikes. Ukrainian forces, with the help of foreign partners, reportedly used the system to down Russian jet drones targeting Odessa.
The development highlights the escalating use of drone warfare in the conflict, with both sides advancing their air defense capabilities.
