Stampede at RCB Victory Parade Kills Seven in Bangalore
Kathmandu, June 4: At least seven people were killed in a stampede during the victory celebration of Indian Premier League (IPL) champions Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) on Wednesday.
The tragedy occurred as thousands of fans gathered outside Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bangalore to celebrate RCB’s historic win. According to Indian media reports, the victims included several women, and many others were injured in the chaos.
RCB had clinched their first-ever IPL title by defeating Punjab Kings in the final held in Ahmedabad, ending an 18-year wait for the trophy. Over 50,000 fans attended the victory parade organized at the stadium.
The RCB franchise expressed deep sorrow over the incident and extended heartfelt condolences to the families of the deceased.
