Los Angeles, June 10: Protests against the arrests of illegal immigrants by the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agency in Los Angeles have turned violent, causing rising tension across the city.

ICE has been conducting immigration raids in Los Angeles County since Friday, sparking continuous protests in downtown Los Angeles. Clashes have broken out between protesters, police officers, and National Guard troops deployed by the Trump administration.

More than 100 people were arrested during raids on Monday. Following the arrests, angry protesters responded by throwing tear gas, flash-bang grenades, and rocks at immigration agents.

California Governor Gavin Newsom has strongly criticized the Trump administration for deploying the National Guard without his approval to suppress the protests.

According to China Media Group (CMG), over 700 Marines from both the land and navy forces have been deployed in Los Angeles, with their numbers reportedly increasing.

The violence escalated as federal law enforcement officers targeted locations where illegal immigrants were allegedly hiding. The situation remains tense as protests and raids continue.
