Kathmandu, June 21: Aamir Khan’s much-anticipated film ‘Sitare Zameen Par’ has finally been released. Directed by R.S. Prasanna, known for the film Shubh Mangal Savdhan, this movie is the official Hindi remake of the 2018 Spanish film ‘Champions’ by Javier Fesser.
The film stars Aamir Khan, Genelia Deshmukh, Ashish Pendse, and a talented cast of 10 special children who bring life to the story.
Plot
The story follows Aamir Khan’s character, who makes a big mistake and is punished with community service. His task? To coach special needs children and train them in basketball. The movie beautifully blends emotion and comedy, focusing on the children’s journey and their coach’s transformation.
Review
While Aamir Khan delivers his usual strong performance, it’s the young actors who truly shine. Their natural, heartfelt acting makes the film special. Director Prasanna gave the cast 10-11 months of training, which clearly paid off.
However, the film struggles with pacing issues, especially in the first half, which feels stretched. The second half picks up well, but overall, the movie would have benefited from tighter editing.
Compared to Aamir Khan’s classic ‘Taare Zameen Par’, this film doesn’t quite reach the same emotional depth. Still, it offers meaningful entertainment with a positive social message.
The music is average and doesn’t leave a lasting impression, but the film’s heart and intent make it worth watching.
Verdict:
‘Sitare Zameen Par’ is a feel-good film with an important message. Aamir Khan’s fans will enjoy it, and those who like uplifting, socially themed stories will appreciate it despite some weaknesses.
