Blacktopping Completed on Eastern Section of Muglin-Pokhara Road

Damauli (Tanahun), June 27: The blacktopping work on the eastern section of the Muglin-Pokhara four-lane road has been completed. The announcement was made during a program organized by China Communication Construction Company at Bimalnagar, Bandipur Rural Municipality-4 on Monday.

The program was attended by company representatives, engineers, consultants, and workers. According to Engineer Bishnu Prasad Pandey of the Muglin-Pokhara Road Project (Eastern Section), the blacktopping of the Ambukhaireni–Jamune section is now complete.

“The entire four-lane section has been blacktopped, and only a few finishing works such as road marking and safety installations remain,” said Pandey.

The eastern section covers 41.5 kilometers, and the blacktopping was completed within the timeline of 3 years and 456 days from the start of construction. The final deadline is June 2025.

The construction contract was signed on January 30, 2017, and work officially began on May 2, 2018. The project is funded through a loan from the Asian Development Bank (ADB) and implemented by China Communications Construction Company. The total contract for the eastern section is worth Rs 21.3113 billion.

The four-lane expansion was initiated to address increasing traffic congestion and enhance connectivity between central Nepal and the tourism hub of Pokhara.
