Former President Bhandari to Return Government Facilities Ahead of Political Comeback

Kathmandu, June 30:Former President Bidya Devi Bhandari is preparing to give up government-provided services as she plans to return to active politics with the CPN-UML.
Sources close to her said Bhandari had continued using several facilities provided after her term ended, but she is now planning to return them. Although the government had given her a house in Chapali Heights, she chose not to move in, relying instead on the other housing services already provided.
Bhandari is expected to write to the government requesting the withdrawal of these services starting from the first day of the upcoming fiscal year. These include rent for her secretariat, staff salaries, and security arrangements.
Although the government offers a salary to the former president, she has not accepted it. She also uses her own vehicles instead of the ones provided by the state. However, the government continues to pay salaries for two personal secretaries and rent for a house used by her security personnel.
