Seville (Spain), July 1: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has called for international development aid to be predictable, fair, and tailored to the actual needs of developing countries.

Speaking at a roundtable on “Revitalization of International Development Cooperation” during the 4th UN International Conference on Finance for Development, PM Oli emphasized that current aid flows are insufficient and imbalanced. He urged world leaders to transform such aid into meaningful support for development.

He stated that developed nations must turn their commitments into action. “Let us invest in people, not in weapons. Climate finance must be measurable, and investments should be balanced,” he said, adding that the real purpose of international cooperation is to ensure dignity, not dependency.

PM Oli also stressed the importance of allocating new and additional resources to support climate adaptation and mitigation in countries most affected by climate change.

He urged the global community to focus on local ownership, build mutual trust, and promote transparency and strong partnerships. “This is a historic achievement, but its success depends on our collective determination. We must work together to fix the gaps,” he said.
