Nepal to Face Singapore in ACC U-16 Final After Dominant Semi-Final Win

Kathmandu, July 3: Nepal will take on Singapore in the final of the ACC Men’s U-16 Eastern Regional Cricket Tournament on Saturday. The title clash is scheduled for 7:45 AM in Malaysia.

Nepal advanced to the final after defeating Malaysia by nine wickets in today’s semi-final. Chasing a modest target of 91 runs, Nepal lost just one wicket and finished the game in 11.4 overs.

In the other semi-final, Singapore beat Hong Kong by four wickets, chasing down 169 runs in 38.5 overs.

Nepal had already beaten Singapore by six wickets in the group stage. Nepal also recorded huge wins against Bhutan by 298 runs and Indonesia by 370 runs, remaining unbeaten in all four group matches to top Group A.

Singapore finished second in Group A, beating Bhutan by 226 runs, Japan by three wickets, and Indonesia by nine wickets. In Group B, Hong Kong topped the table and Malaysia came in second.

Nepal, the defending champions, had won the title by defeating Malaysia in the previous edition. A total of ten teams participated in the tournament organized by the Asian Cricket Council (ACC).
