Russia Strikes Kyiv Overnight as Trump-Putin Call Fails to Yield Progress

Kathmandu, Jul 4: Ukrainian officials reported that Kyiv was covered in smoke on Friday morning following a major overnight attack by Russia.
According to Ukrainian authorities, the city was rocked by loud explosions, gunfire, air defense activity, and the buzzing of drones. Russia reportedly launched 550 drone strikes and fired 11 missiles during the night.
The assault came just hours after a phone call between US President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin. Following the conversation, President Trump expressed disappointment, saying Putin showed no willingness to end the war in Ukraine.
“There has been no progress,” Trump stated after the Thursday talks with Putin.
Meanwhile, Russian officials said a woman was killed in a Ukrainian drone strike inside Russia.
