SAF U-20 Women’s Championship Kicks Off Today in Bangladesh; Nepal to Face Bhutan

Kathmandu, Jul 11: The South Asian Football Federation (SAF) U-20 Women’s Championship begins today in Dhaka, Bangladesh, with Nepal taking on Bhutan in their opening match. The game will be played at the Basundhara Kings Arena at 6:15 PM Nepali time.
This marks the tenth encounter between the two teams. In their last meeting during the same tournament two years ago, Nepal defeated Bhutan 4-0.
Earlier in the day, hosts Bangladesh will play against Sri Lanka at 3 PM.
Four countries – Nepal, Bhutan, Sri Lanka, and defending champions Bangladesh – are participating in this year’s championship, which runs from July 11.
Nepal’s U-20 women’s team is led by captain Birna Chaudhary. Other players in the squad include Leela Joshi, Karuna Budhathoki, Sujata Tamang, Sarita Kumari Nath, Maya Roske, Semihangma Limbu, Pandak, Vishwamak, Simran, Anisha Rai, Sita Rokaya, Kavita Gurung, Sushila KC, Asmita Gurung, Senu Pariyar, Kusum Khatiwada, Sukriya Mian, Manisha Sen, Varsha Oli, Purnima Rai, Meena Deuba, and Samiksha Magar.
