Stuntman Raju Dies in Tragic On-Set Accident During Filming of ‘Vettuvam’

Kathmandu, Jul 14: A tragic accident occurred on the set of the upcoming film ‘Vettuvam’, directed by Fr. Ranjit, leaving stuntman Raju (Mohan Raj) dead and director Fr. Ranjit along with actor Arya injured.
The incident took place in Nagapattinam during the filming of a high-risk car stunt. Raju, a renowned stunt performer in the South Indian film industry, was driving an SUV when it overturned just in front of the ramp. The vehicle crashed to the ground with significant force, slamming its front end onto the surface. A video from the set shows the SUV flipping and crew members rushing to pull Raju out of the wreckage.
Initial reports had suggested Raju died of a heart attack, but newly released footage confirms that the cause was a fatal stunt accident. The mishap occurred on July 12 during the action sequence.
South Indian actor Vishal confirmed the news of Raju’s death via social media, expressing grief and extending condolences to his family and colleagues.
The accident has cast a shadow over the film’s production and has raised fresh concerns about safety measures during high-risk stunts in the film industry.
