Kathmandu, August 9: The Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) will mark Raksha Bandhan by displaying life-size photo cutouts of its imprisoned president, Rabi Lamichhane, the party announced on Friday.

Lamichhane is currently in jail in connection with a cooperative fraud case, but party officials say his symbolic presence will be part of the celebration.

According to the RSP, the programme will take place from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at two locations: the temple courtyard of Bhairahawa District Prison in Gatagadi, and the bell tower at Chahmati Vanasthali in Kathmandu.

The event will feature public displays of Lamichhane’s photo cutouts, allowing supporters to symbolically tie Rakhi to their leader in absentia.
