Nepal Fall Short by 1 Run Against Pakistan Shaheens in T20 Series

Kathmandu, Aug 22: Nepal lost to Pakistan Shaheens by just one run in their final match of the ongoing T20 series in Darwin, Australia.

Chasing 145 runs at Marrara Cricket Ground-2, Nepal managed 143 for seven in 20 overs. Eight runs were required in the final over, but Nepal fell short with two wickets lost for six runs.

Captain Rohit Kumar Paudel top-scored with 52 off 44 balls, hitting six fours and a six. Dipendra Singh Airee added 41 off 21 with two fours and a six. Asif Sheikh scored 27 while Lokesh Bamley managed 10. Pakistan’s Mohammad Wasim and Faizal Akram took two wickets each.

Batting first after winning the toss, Pakistan Shaheens posted 144 for nine in 20 overs. Captain Irfan Khan led with 42 off 26, supported by Abdul Samad’s 26, Mohammad Wasim’s 23, and Yasir Khan’s 18.

For Nepal, Sompal Kami claimed three wickets, Dipendra Singh Airee and Nandan Yadav took two each, while Kushal Bhurtel grabbed one.
