Nepal Suffers 3-0 Defeat to Bangladesh in SAFF U-17 Women’s Championship

Kathmandu, Aug 24: Nepal faced another setback in the South Asian Football Federation (SAFF) U-17 Women’s Championship after losing 3-0 to Bangladesh at the Changlimithang Stadium in Bhutan.
With this result, Bangladesh climbed to second place with six points from three matches, while Nepal sits third with three points.
Earlier in the tournament, Nepal endured a heavy 7-0 loss to India and a narrow 2-1 defeat against Bhutan. Bangladesh, on the other hand, had previously beaten Bhutan 3-1 but lost 2-0 to India.
In today’s match, Bangladesh opened the scoring in the 41st minute through Marma. Just three minutes later, Saurabhi Akhand Preeti doubled the lead. In injury time, Mamoni Chakma sealed the win, giving Bangladesh a comfortable 3-0 victory.
