Kathmandu, Aug 26: Protesters have taken to the streets across Israel since Tuesday morning, calling for an end to the military offensive in Gaza and the return of women held hostage by Hamas.

The rallies are organized by the Hostages and Missing Families Forum, a group that has consistently urged the Israeli government to prioritize the release of hostages and stop the war.

The protests come as Israel has stepped up its offensive in Gaza. On Monday, at least 20 people were killed in an Israeli attack on Nasser Hospital in Khan Younis, southern Gaza.

According to the Hamas-run Health Ministry, the dead also included five journalists working with international media.
