UML Holds Group Discussions on Report at Second Constitutional Convention

Lalitpur, Sept 6: The second constitutional convention of the Communist Party of Nepal (UML) continued at Sunrise Hall, Godavari, with delegates engaged in group discussions on the party’s report.

According to UML Propaganda Department Chief Rajendra Gautam, delegates have been divided into 10 groups based on state, valley, and central structures for the discussions. He informed that Koshi Province has already begun drafting its report after completing internal deliberations.

Delegates from Madhes, Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali, and Far-Western regions are also holding parallel discussions, while representatives of the Valley special states, various people’s organizations, contact coordination committees, diaspora groups, the central office, and departmental structures are actively engaged as well.

Gautam stated that group leaders will present their reports on Friday. Prime Minister and UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli is expected to respond to the suggestions made during the group discussions. If consensus cannot be reached on any issue, he added, the party constitution will be finalized in a unified manner.

The convention is scheduled to conclude tomorrow with the endorsement of a resolution deemed timely for the party.
