Kathmandu, Sept 9: Preparations are underway to close Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) due to rising security risks. The Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN) said the airport will be shut down as continuous agitation, vandalism and arson have created a critical situation for aircraft safety.
According to CAAN, repeated fire incidents near the airport have posed serious challenges to air safety. Authorities are preparing to divert flights and suspend landings at TIA until the situation stabilizes.
