British Ambassador Holds Talks with Minister Ghising on Nepal-UK Cooperation

Kathmandu, Sep 23: UK Ambassador to Nepal Rab Fen paid a courtesy call on Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation, Physical Infrastructure and Transport and Urban Development Minister Kulman Ghising.
Ambassador Fen congratulated Minister Ghising and wished him a successful tenure. The two sides discussed Nepal–UK friendship, cooperation, UK assistance in the energy sector, investment possibilities in infrastructure, and necessary support for climate change mitigation measures, according to the ministry.
Minister Ghising said the government formed after the Genji protests has prioritised reconstruction of damaged structures, general elections and good governance. He appreciated the UK’s assistance in Nepal’s economic development and noted the effectiveness of support for establishing charging stations to make Nepal carbon-free and promote electric vehicles.
On the occasion, Ambassador Fen said the UK is an old friend of Nepal and will continue to support the country’s success and economic transformation, Ghising’s secretariat stated.
