Government Forms Technical Committee to Classify Jenji Demonstration Injuries

Kathmandu, Sept 28: The government has formed a technical committee to classify individuals injured during the ‘Jenji’ demonstration. Government Spokesperson and Communication and Information Technology Minister Jagdish Kharel said today’s Cabinet meeting at Singhadurbar decided to provide appropriate relief to the injured following the committee’s classification.
The meeting decided to arrange identity cards through the Home Ministry for identification and to ensure easy and effective treatment of those injured in the August 10 demonstrations. It has also been decided to operate a ‘Jenji Clinic’ in hospitals. The Health Ministry will arrange a hotline and appoint contact persons to facilitate free transportation and treatment of the injured, Kharel added.
The Cabinet also approved the construction of an additional power plant from Muglin in Chitwan to Abukhaire in Tanahun under the Muglin-Pokhara road along the existing highway from Muglin Bazar towards Gorkha, along with the road drawings. A road standard of 30 meters — 15 meters on either side from the center line — has been approved.
Similarly, the meeting approved Nepal’s participation in the eighth meeting of the International Solar Alliance (ISA) to be held in New Delhi from November 30. Ajay Bhadra Khanal has been appointed as Chief Advisor to the Prime Minister and Govind Narayan Timalsina as Public Relations Advisor, Kharel informed.
