Beijing, Oct 7: Chinese employers are racing to recruit professionals skilled in artificial intelligence (AI), as autumn job fairs across Beijing showcase a surge in AI-related opportunities.

Companies have opened numerous positions focused on internet and AI technologies, inviting applications from recent graduates and experienced professionals alike. Teachers specializing in AI imaging were also seen mentoring job seekers during the event.

Interestingly, firms are not only targeting tech experts but are also increasingly hiring graduates from humanities and social science backgrounds. Experts say these candidates are needed to help refine large language models (LLMs) by defining and organizing vast datasets and improving prompt quality.

Recruiters noted that June is an ideal time for fresh graduates to begin internships or trainee positions in the AI sector.

According to data from a leading career development platform in China, job postings for AI engineers rose by 25% in the third quarter of this year compared to the same period last year. Statistics show that the average monthly salary for AI engineers in China now stands at around 3,000 USD, reflecting the growing value of AI expertise in the country’s rapidly evolving tech landscape.
