Nepal Sets 272-Run Target for the United States in ICC League Two

Kathmandu, Nov 1: Nepal has set a target of 272 runs for the United States in the triangular series of the ICC Cricket World Cup League Two being played in Dubai.

Batting first, Nepal was bowled out for 271 runs in 49.1 overs.

All-rounder Dipendra Singh Airee led the innings with a solid 75-run half-century, hitting two fours and three sixes off 67 balls and reaching his fifty in just 43 balls.

Coming in at No. 8, Karan KC added valuable late runs, scoring 49 off 31 balls with two fours and three sixes — falling just one run short of a half-century.

Kushal Bhurtel contributed 47 runs, while Bhim Sarki made 43 and captain Rohit Poudel added 36.

For the U.S., Hermit Singh starred with the ball, taking three wickets for 33 runs in 10 overs. Saurabh Netravalkar and Nosthush Kenjige picked up two wickets each, while Jasdeep Singh and Shubham Ranjane took one wicket apiece.

Nepal has struggled in the series so far, losing both previous matches — a 106-run defeat to the United States in the first game and a five-wicket loss to the UAE on Thursday.

With two games remaining, Nepal is under pressure to secure a win and keep its campaign alive.
