Kathmandu, Nov 18: Prime Minister Sushila Karki met Santosh Bohara, the youth from Birendranagar-2, Surkhet, who lost both eyes during the ‘Genz’ demonstration.

She visited TRI Teaching Hospital in Maharajgunj on Sunday to inquire about his health. According to the Prime Minister’s secretariat, Karki was briefed by the medical team on Bohara’s treatment progress and later spoke with his family.

Bohara lost both eyes in an incident in Surkhet on August. His father, Chandra Bahadur Bohora, urged the government to take strict action against those responsible. He expressed concern over the family’s future, saying Bohara’s wife, four-year-old daughter, and parents now face serious financial hardship.

During the discussion, Prime Minister Karki assured the family of full government support. “I understand how difficult this is. We are parents too. The government will do everything possible for his treatment. We will also work to support the child’s education and create employment opportunities for his wife,” she said.
