Kathmandu, Nov 20: Lumbini Lions defeated Chitwan Rhinos by six wickets in the second edition of the Nepal Premier League (NPL) at the Tribhuvan University Cricket Ground on Thursday.
Chasing a target of 143, Lumbini reached 143 for 4 in 18.3 overs. Gulbadin Naible led the innings with 44 runs, while captain Rohit Poudel contributed 39 and Sandeep Jora added 28. Chitwan’s Region Dhakal claimed two wickets.
Earlier, Chitwan Rhinos, after losing the toss and opting to bat first, posted 142 for 7 in 20 overs. Rabi Bopara top-scored with 66 runs, supported by Kushal Malla’s 21. Lumbini’s Ruben Trumpelman took three wickets, while Avishesh Gautam and Gulbadin Naible picked up two wickets each.
