Army Chief Sigdel Directs Security Agencies to Ensure Safe and Coordinated Elections
Kathmandu, Feb 11: Chief of Army Staff Ashok Raj Sigdel has directed that the upcoming elections be conducted in a safe and orderly manner through close coordination with other security agencies and all concerned stakeholders.
Addressing the concluding session of the command and staff coordination meeting held at the military headquarters on Tuesday, Army Chief Sigdel instructed that election security arrangements be carried out in line with the Integrated Security Plan–2082.
According to the Directorate of Military Public Relations and Information of the Nepal Army, Chief of Army Staff Sigdel emphasized the need to maintain unity, collective spirit and discipline across the entire army while fulfilling assigned responsibilities. He also expressed appreciation to the command and staff for their effective performance at various levels.
The meeting reviewed the current security situation, evaluated training progress, assessed logistical and provisioning arrangements, and discussed other contemporary issues relevant to national security and election preparedness.
Officers from different formations, regiments and units of the armed forces were present at the concluding session, reflecting the army’s focus on coordination and readiness ahead of the elections.
