Home Minister Aryal Expresses Confidence in Free and Fear-Free Elections
Kathmandu, Feb 19: Home Minister and Government Spokesperson Om Prakash Aryal has expressed confidence that the House of Representatives elections scheduled for Falgun 21 will be conducted in a clean, fair, and fear-free environment.
As part of election preparations, Minister Aryal inspected various polling stations and the Office of the Returning Officer in the Sundarijal area under Constituency No. 3 of Gokarneshwor Municipality on Thursday. During the visit, he reviewed security arrangements and overall logistical readiness.
The inspection team, which included the Home Secretary, the Chief District Officer of Kathmandu, and chiefs of security agencies, observed polling centers at Gokarneshwor and Okhreni Secondary Schools as well as the Dhapadyam area.
During the visit, Minister Aryal directed concerned officials to remain vigilant against false and misleading information circulating on social media and ensure peaceful conduct of the election. He emphasized the importance of maintaining law and order while preventing misinformation from disrupting the democratic process.
Returning Officers briefed the Minister that key preparations — including manpower deployment, voter education programs, and transportation of election materials — are progressing smoothly.
With security coordination and administrative preparations underway, authorities have reiterated their commitment to holding a credible and transparent election across the country.
