Prime Minister Karki Thanks UML for Support in Peaceful Elections
Kathmandu, March 17: Prime Minister Sushila Karki has thanked the CPN-UML for its support in conducting the elections in a peaceful manner.
Prime Minister Karki invited UML leaders to Baluwatar to express her gratitude, where leaders Ishwor Pokharel, Pradeep Gyawali and Mahesh Bartaula were present.
She appreciated their role in ensuring that the elections were conducted successfully in a peaceful environment, stating that elections were the only option to resolve the difficult situation facing the country.
“The only option to peacefully resolve this difficult situation was the election. I would like to thank you very much for your supportive role and active participation,” she said.
Prime Minister Karki also urged UML leaders not to be discouraged by electoral outcomes, noting that victories and defeats are part of democratic politics. She emphasized that a single election result does not determine a party’s long-term position and encouraged them to continue working on issues concerning the nation and the people.
UML leaders, in turn, congratulated the Prime Minister and her government for successfully conducting peaceful and credible elections. They praised the leadership shown during a challenging period and acknowledged the impartial role of the administration.
They also noted that this year’s election campaign was more peaceful, healthier and less expensive compared to previous elections.
Earlier, Prime Minister Karki had also visited UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli at his residence in Gundu to offer condolences following the passing of his father.
