Government Plans to Introduce Disaster Relief Training in School Curriculum

Kathmandu, March 31: Home Minister Sudhan Gurung held discussions with Armed Police Force Chief IGP Raju Aryal regarding disaster preparedness initiatives.

The government has proposed including disaster relief programs in the school curriculum to develop life-saving skills among children from an early age. The Armed Police Force has been directed to make necessary preparations for the initiative.

Minister Gurung said the program will be implemented in coordination with the Ministry of Education, aiming to equip students with safety awareness, first aid skills and knowledge on how to respond during natural disasters.

Through this initiative, students are expected to gain practical skills to handle emergencies effectively.

Authorities said the program will be carried out with coordination among concerned agencies to ensure effective implementation.
