Kathmandu, March 31: US President Donald Trump has reportedly asked his allies to move toward ending the war, expressing willingness to halt the military campaign against Iran even if the Strait of Hormuz remains largely closed.
According to a Wall Street Journal report citing administration officials, efforts to reopen the crucial maritime route have fallen behind schedule, prompting a shift in strategy.
The report states that the United States is now considering maintaining diplomatic pressure on Iran to restore trade flows following significant damage to Iran’s naval and missile capabilities.
The BBC reported that it contacted the White House for comment but had not received a response.
